Which service should I ask about?

Choose bookkeeping when the underlying records need attention. Choose tax preparation when the question concerns a return and its supporting information. Choose business advisory when you have a decision that needs financial analysis. The Services page compares all three.

Can I start with incomplete or overdue books?

Yes. Describe the earliest period that needs work and the last month you consider reliable. Catch-up work is scoped separately from an ongoing monthly routine so there is a clear starting balance and a clear endpoint.

How are fees determined?

The fee depends on the actual work: accounts, transaction volume, periods, return types, record condition, and the question being answered. The proposal identifies the scope and price rather than assuming the same package suits every business.

Does bookkeeping automatically include tax preparation?

No. They support each other, but the engagement should identify each separately. Ask who handles the year-end handoff and which returns, payroll matters, notices, or other tasks are included.

What should I have ready?

Start with the accounting system, latest reports, statements for the relevant period, and a short list of open questions. For a tax matter, identify the year, entity, prior return, and any notice or deadline. The consultation checklist helps organize that first conversation.

Can I discuss changing accountants?

Yes. Identify what is unfinished, which provider owns each task, and the proposed handoff date. Keep access to your records and confirm who will handle filings or other deadlines during the transition. Do not cancel an existing arrangement before responsibilities are clear.

Can I visit the office?

Office visits are by appointment at the Federal Way address on the Contact page. Text Lily or Andrey or send a request to arrange a time and confirm what to bring.

Are Lily and Andrey CPAs?

Lily Doroshenko and Andrey Doroshenko are CPAs. Doroshenko Accounting & Advisory is a licensed Washington CPA firm based in Federal Way.
